Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the problems and needs of elderly activities in

Ban Wang Jom, Chiang Dao sub-district, Chiang Dao district, Chiang Mai The sample group used in
this study were 63 elderly people aged over 60 years who live in Ban Wang Jom, Chiang Dao

sub-district, Chiang Dao district, Chiang Mai. The data collection began by retrieving through various

documents as a guideline and supporting information for the research results The research

also conducted by using questionnaire in which the researcher asked for permission to collect

data and record pictures in order to obtain the complete information. The tools used were
questionnaires and data were analyzed using the Excel program to analyze the data by

descriptive statistics, including mean and standard deviation (SD).

The research results revealed that 1) the problems and needs for organizing activities
of the elderly in Ban Wang Jom, from responding to the questionnaire, most of them had

personnel problems. The staff is not enough, recreational leaders have insufficient knowledge

in organizing activities, recreational leaders use too much formal language making it difficult
for older people to understand and recreational leaders do not have good interpersonal
