ABSTRACT

The objectives of this research were 1. To study the health problems in Ban Mae Hoi Ngern
community 2. To study the explicit knowledge of folk health care wisdom in the community and

3. To study herbal conservation guidelines for local health care in Ban Mae Hoi Ngern. The sample

group were folk healers and 300 residents of Ban Mae Hoi Ngern who were drawn from non-
specific sampling The tools used in the research were interviewing forms and questionnaires.

Statistics used in data analysis was percentage.

The research results were as follows: Most of the people in Ban Mae Hoi Ngern community
were in good health with an average of 80.0 , some had health problems due to the muscle pain

with an average of 68.67, caused by hard work with an average of 40.0 The knowledge of folk

84.33 and the herbal conservation guidelines for health treatments of Ban Mae Hoi Ngern including

transferring knowledge of herbs within the community, utilizing community herbs for treatment,
and supporting indigenous healers from agencies both inside and outside the community.
